Up until 1965 the postal affairs of the Kathiri State of Seiyun were handled through the Crown Agents. During 1966, 1967 and 1968 its stamps were distributed by a private agency.

Up until 1965 the postal affairs of the Kathiri State of Seiyun were handled through the Crown Agents. During 1966, 1967 and 1968 its stamps were distributed by a private agency.
Several sets were prepared by overprinting stocks of earlier Kathiri stamps, while those that were newly designed emphasized topical themes, especially sports and European art. Earlier Kathiri stamps were valid throughout the Aden region, but it is far from certain if any of the issues of 1966-68 could be used anywhere other than in the Kathiri State itself.
