Barbuda Mint Stamps - Barbuda Used Stamps - Barbuda Newest Stamps
Barbuda is a small island country near Antigua, which issued stamps in 1922 and then resumed again in 1968. The history of Barbuda is shrouded in mystery and controversy. Not many people know what actually occurred on Barbuda during British colonial days. Think of the famous book “The Boys From Brazil” and perhaps you will get an idea of what the long wooden shed houses were used for on Barbuda.
Barbuda stamps today are among the most desirable and scarce issues of British Commonwealth collecting. Still underpriced in Scott, Barbuda stamps are impossible to obtain in any quantity. Most issues were overprinted on Antigua stamps and very limited philatelic or postal usage were seen.
Demand is great for Barbuda topical stamps and the supply is virtually nil. Issues for WWF, Gandhi, butterflies and other subjects can double or triple in the next few years.
Barbuda no longer issues independent stamps. Stamps issued by the newly named country Antigua and Barbuda are current on the island.
