About ten times a year, we send to subscribers bargain priced older stamps. We heavily promoted this Club a few years ago, and only now do we have room to accept another fifty members.

This Club operates on an approval basis. You receive a group of stamps, with a cost of approximately $45.00, ten times a year. Generally the stamps are priced 50% or more below retail. These are not new issues but are highly desirable older sets that we have been able to purchase in quantity from dealers' closeouts or sometimes even special sales of post offices' obsolete stocks. There is no way to describe our monthly selections as each month differs from the next, nevertheless, it is safe to say that the stamps are most always mint complete never hinged sets in very fine condition from popular countries, there are no U.S.A. stamps.

Because it is so difficult to describe our selections we offer members the opportunity to return their complete selection within thirty days of receipt and also to cancel anytime they wish if they are not completely satisfied with the stamps they are receiving, however, we do have over 350 satisfied members whose only complaint to us is that we do not ship selections to them often enough.

We started our Stamp of the Month in 1988 with one purpose in mind; to make sure that our customers did not miss out on the best buys of older stamps that we are able to make.

We review incoming collections and states and we break this up by offering our Stamp of the Month club member's first opportunity to purchase better quality stamps before we put them into inventory.

Our prices are always below market and our quality is very high. We ask Stamp of the Month customers to let us know the one or two countries that they most want to receive APPROVALS from and we keep an accurate record of how their collection is building. Despite our low prices, all selections are first quality stamps that you will be proud to possess.

Because we price stamps at below market prices and charge the value directly to your credit card we eliminate bookkeeping expenses and keep our overhead low. Still you have up to sixty days to examine and evaluate our sendings. If you wish simply return the stamps to us and we simply credit your charge card immediately.

We can service a limited number of accounts in our new Older Topical Issues on Approval Service. This is a mirror of our famous New Issue Service but works off our large inventory and the stamps are sent to you on a sale or return basis. Specifically, we send the stamps to you per your instructions on a monthly basis and you may keep or return all or some of our monthly selection. You (or we) may cancel the service at any time with no advance notice if your account is in balance.

Stamps are sent on approval against your credit card authorization and all returns are promptly credited to your account. Our other clubs work this same way and for over 55 years we have never had a problem about our service or business practices.

Every collector likes a bargain and Herrick Stamp Company likes to deliver one. It is for this reason that we started our Bargain of the Month Club in 1986 and that we are inaugurating our "LOTS" of stamps club now. If you can use large diversified groups of philatelic material priced below dealers normal wholesale cost then this club IS FOR YOU! If you only want a limited amount of all different complete mint NH sets then this club is NOT FOR YOU.

Our buyer travels the country buying over 100 collections and dealer stocks annually. Not all of these collections fit easily into our stock. Whatever is left over, goes into cardboard cartons and saved, "for the future".

Well really, how much miscellaneous material can we store? It is time to lighten the load a bit. We started to do so by offering to our Bargain of the Month buyers a special subscription to take our LOTS on a quarterly basis. The deal was that we would send LOTS of material ON APPROVAL. If they kept the "LOT", then we would send another lot in 3 months and continue. If they returned the lot, we would not send any more in the future.

So WHAT is in these lots?

If we knew in advance, we would not have to send them to you on approval. One thing we do know, these are NOT new issue lots. Nor do they contain great rarities (that we know of), rather a large assortment of stamps, mostly complete sets and some covers. We generally run at least 90% mint and always at PRICES THAT ARE TRULY OUTSTANDING. The fact is that we do not strictly control what goes in each lot. We open a carton, we spread out the material into piles and we place a dealers estimate on it. This is leftover material for us and we want to move it. We have to price it right because we send it to you on approval, and we will get it back unless we price it right. So what we do is… we price it right.

As a CLUB MEMBER, you will have first opportunity to see on approval stamps from collections we purchase before they are offered to the general public.

Each collection we buy is somewhat different so each member's monthly sending also varies. We price the stamps at BELOW MARKET PRICES and charge the value to your credit card.

You have sixty days to examine and evaluate our sending. If you wish, simply return the stamps to us and we credit your charge card. This method eliminates bookeeping expenses and help us keep our overhead low. Choose your own area of collecting interest from our application. We only send first quality complete sets.

Our new 39% Approval Club is now open for membership. If you have any sort of old stamps subscription service with Herrick you are eligible to join the 39% club.

The story is simple. We send worldwide stamps (mostly pre-1940 but perhaps sometimes up to 1963 or so) on approval every month at an average of 39% ( 61% below) catalog.

You can keep or return any stamp set that you wish. Many of these stamps are hard to find 19th century or early 20th century stamps individually priced.

Later we may offer this club to the general public, but for now it is only open to Herrick customers. Foreign and USA stamps are included in these approval sending. All stamps are identified by Scott number.
